Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may and may not do when using MatterWise. It forms
part of our Terms of Service, and the same defined terms apply.
1Use MatterWise for its intended purpose
MatterWise is provided to help you understand and manage genuine staff and employment situations in your own
business. You may use it for that purpose, in accordance with the Terms of Service and applicable law.
2Data you input
When you enter information — including information about employees or other people — you must:
- have the authority and the right to provide that information;
- meet your own obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and other applicable laws, including,
where required, telling the individuals concerned how their information is handled; and
- keep the information as accurate and up to date as you reasonably can.
Do not enter information you have no right to provide, and avoid entering sensitive information unless it is
necessary.
3Things you must not do
You must not:
- use MatterWise for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any law or third-party right;
- input, upload or generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, threatening,
or that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
- misuse the personal information of any individual, including using MatterWise to harass, profile, or take
action against a person unlawfully;
- use the anonymous feedback/complaint channel to send spam, abuse, threats, or content you know to be false,
or to identify or retaliate against a person who submits feedback in breach of the law;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, organisation, system, or data, or access data that
does not belong to your organisation;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attack MatterWise or its infrastructure, or attempt to bypass
security, rate-limiting, or access controls;
- copy, scrape, harvest, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, models, or
underlying database of MatterWise, except to the extent the law permits despite this restriction;
- resell, sublicense, rent, or commercially exploit MatterWise or its output except as expressly permitted;
- use MatterWise to build or train a competing product or service;
- remove or obscure any proprietary notices; or
- use automated means to access MatterWise other than any interface we provide for that purpose.
4Outputs are not a substitute for advice
You must not present or rely on MatterWise output as legal advice, or hold MatterWise out as providing legal
advice or as being affiliated with any government body. See our Disclaimer.
5Consequences of breach
If you breach this Policy, we may (without limiting our other rights) issue a warning, restrict, suspend, or
terminate your access, remove content, and, where appropriate, report the matter to the relevant authorities.
Where practical and lawful, we will give you notice.
6Reporting misuse
If you become aware of any misuse of MatterWise, a security issue, or content that breaches this Policy,
please tell us at admin@matterwise.com.au.
7Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the “last
updated” date.
